OLDEN RETREAT

Our very first women's retreat surrounded by steep mountains, lush valleys and glaciers.

We’ll spend our days moving through beautiful landscapes as well as slowing down, eating well and moving our bodies in a way that feels good!

Hike & Yoga, in the western fjords.

It’s like stepping into a postcard with endless hikes and lakes to cool off in. We’ll spend our days moving through this landscape and enjoy the long summer days in June.

Alongside hiking, we’ll have sessions with yoga and breathwork throughout the retreat, as well as colorful, nourishing meals shared together. No earlier experience is necessary! :)

The focus is simple: to use the body, get fresh air, and create space to reset.

Our home: Singerheimen

Our home for the week is Singerheimen, a historic house with a calm atmosphere that will be our shared base throughout the stay.

It’s quiet, a bit remote, and feels very far from everyday life in the best possible way.

Singerheimen is not a typical hotel. It’s run by a local family during the summer months, which gives the whole place a really warm and personal feel.

Movement with Maria

Every morning, Maria Gullseth guides us through movement. As a yoga and movement instructor, she has a deep love for the body and the wisdom it holds. Maria’s practice is dynamic and grounding, inviting you to drop into your body and come home to yourself.

Expect Vinyasa classes that strengthen, energize, and restore, leaving space to listen inward and find what you actually need that day.

Food from Wilder Kitchen

Rebecca Hawkes from Wilder Kitchen will prepare our food.

Rebecca is a chef, forager and storyteller, someone who turns a shared meal into an experience.

One of the things that excites us most about this project is the people we get to bring together. When it came to food, Rebecca was an easy choice.

Meals are shared and prepared with a focus on simple, seasonal nourishing food. Slowing down, eating well and spending time around the table together is a big part of the retreat.

What to expect

How we will spend our days together

We’ll spend most of our time between being outside and coming back to a slower pace at our retreat home.

All meals are shared, and everything is arranged in advance, so you don’t have to think about logistics while you’re there.

You just show up, take part, and spend a few days in a different rhythm together with a small group of women.

  • Arrival day is kept simple and relaxed with time to settle in and meet the others at your own pace.

You can check in from 3 pm, and we’ll offer pick-up regularly from both Stryn and Hovden Airport.

Once you arrive, you’ll have time to unpack, and settle in at your own pace.

In the early evening, we’ll gather for a gentle welcome session and short introduction to the days ahead, followed by a shared dinner around 7 PM.

  • We start each morning with gentle movement and yoga, followed by breakfast together.

Three out of four days are spent hiking through the surrounding landscapes, while one day is left open to slow down, explore the town, and enjoy the area at an easier pace.

Evenings are calm and unhurried, with shared dinners and a soft landing into mindfulness and light breathwork, alongside plenty of time to rest, read, or simply be on your own.

  • Check-out is at 11. Before that, we’ll have a closing session to wrap up the retreat, followed by a shared breakfast together.

After check-out, we’ll arrange transport to Stryn and Hovden Airport for your journey home.

Good to know

Just a few things to help you prepare and feel ready.

This is an all-female international retreat, and all communication will be in English.

We'll be hiking most days, so we recommend a basic fitness level and feeling comfortable on the trail - but you don't need to be an experienced hiker. We’ll walk at a pace where everyone feels comfortable, and for us it's all about enjoying the journey, not the distance.

All yoga, movement and mindfulness sessions are open to all levels, whether you've never rolled out a mat or you practice regularly.

We'll handle all transport during the trip, including pickup and drop-off at Stryn and Hovden Airport.

Personal travel insurance is your own responsibility.

Upon booking you will receive a welcome letter with a suggested packing list and everything you need to feel well prepared for arrival!

FAQ

Here are a few frequently asked questions:

  • The smoothest option is flying to Ørsta/Volda (Hovden Airport), which is about a 1 hour flight from Oslo and a 1 hour drive from Singerheimen. We’ll arrange shared pickup from the airport.

You can also fly to Ålesund and take a scenic bus to Stryn (approx. 2.5 hours), followed by a short 15-minute transfer to Olden. We’re happy to pick guests up in Stryn at different times throughout the day, depending on your arrival.

Another option is Sandane Airport, a smaller regional airport about 1 hour away. From the airport to Singerheimen it is about a 1 hour busdrive.

If you’re already in Norway, a beautiful and budget-friendly way to travel is by bus from Bergen (around 6 hours), which takes you directly to Olden village.

Depending on your arrival time, we’ll help coordinate pickups and shared transport so the final part of your journey feels easy and smooth. Feel free to reach out If you’d like help planning your trip!
