  • The retreat description published on moocommunity.com

  • Any additional information communicated by the organiser by email or other channels

  • These participant terms and conditions

Registration is confirmed and the agreement is binding once you receive written confirmation from Moo Retreats AS and your deposit has been received.

2 - Package Travel Regulations

Moo Retreats AS operates in accordance with the Norwegian Package Travel Act (LOV-2018-06-15-32), which implements EU Directive 2015/2302/EU. Retreats that include accommodation combined with tourist services of significant value - such as guided hikes, yoga and cooking - constitute package holidays under this legislation.

As a participant, you are entitled to the rights granted under this legislation, including:

  • Clear and accurate information before entering into the agreement

  • Remedy if there are deficiencies in the arrangement

  • Price reduction or compensation for significant deviations from the agreed content

Moo Retreats AS is registered with the Norwegian Travel Guarantee Fund (Reisegarantifondet). The travel guarantee ensures reimbursement of your payments in the event of insolvency on the part of the organiser.

These rights apply to all participants regardless of nationality or country of residence, as the retreats are organised and conducted under Norwegian jurisdiction.

4 - Participant Requirements

Who can participate

Moo Retreats is open to all adults. Some retreats may be open exclusively to women. This will always be clearly stated in the individual retreat description.

Physical and mental readiness

Moo Retreats is designed for low to moderate activity levels. Each retreat has its own program and activity profile, which is described in detail on moocommunity.com. You are responsible for:

  • Reading the retreat description carefully and assessing whether the activities are suitable for you

  • Informing us of any health conditions, injuries or needs we should be aware of

  • Consulting a doctor if you are uncertain whether the retreat is appropriate for your health

You are required to provide relevant health information in advance. This information is treated confidentially and used solely to ensure your safety and well-being.

Retreat-specific information

Each retreat has its own program, inclusions, activity level and practical requirements. Participants are obliged to read all information provided for the specific retreat they are attending - including the full retreat description on moocommunity.com and any pre-retreat communication sent by email.

By completing your booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted all conditions specific to that retreat. Moo Retreats AS cannot be held responsible for inconvenience or costs arising from failure to read the provided information.

The host’s authority

The lead host may prevent you from participating in specific activities if it is assessed as a safety risk for yourself or the group - due to weather, physical condition, equipment or other circumstances. This decision is final and does not entitle the participant to a refund.

Equipment

You are responsible for arriving with appropriate equipment for the specific retreat. A detailed packing list will be sent to all participants well in advance. The host may exclude participants with insufficient equipment on safety grounds.

5 - Safety & Liability

Organizer’s responsibility

Moo Retreats AS is responsible for:

  • Responsible planning and delivery of all activities

  • Qualified guides and instructors

  • Clearly communicating safety instructions to all participants

  • Ensuring necessary first aid and emergency equipment is available

Moo Retreats AS is not liable for injuries or loss arising from natural conditions, the participant’s own actions, or failure to follow the host’s instructions - unless the damage is the direct result of gross negligence on our part.

Participant’s responsibility

You participate at your own risk. You are responsible for:

  • Following the host’s instructions and safety briefings at all times

  • Adapting to the group’s pace and not exposing others to unnecessary risk

  • Notifying the host immediately in case of illness, injury or concern

  • Holding valid personal travel and accident insurance for the full duration of the retreat

Insurance

All participants are strongly advised to hold active travel and accident insurance that covers outdoor activities. Moo Retreats AS cannot be held liable for costs or losses that fall within the scope of your personal insurance.

6 - Programme & Inclusions

The specific content, inclusions and exclusions for each retreat, including meals, activities, accommodation and local transport, are detailed in the individual retreat description on moocommunity.com.

By registering for a retreat, you confirm that you have read and accepted the inclusions and practical conditions as stated in that retreat’s description. Moo Retreats AS is not responsible for costs or services that fall outside the scope of what is stated in the retreat description.

As a general principle, travel to and from the retreat location is not included unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Changes to the program

Nature cannot be fully planned. We reserve the right to make changes to the program due to weather conditions, safety considerations or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always seek to find equivalent alternatives and will communicate any significant changes in writing as soon as possible.

If changes constitute a material deviation from the agreed content, you may be entitled to a price reduction under the Norwegian Package Travel Act.

7 - Community & Conduct

Moo Retreats is a safe and welcoming space for all participants. We expect everyone to show respect, care and inclusivity towards fellow participants and staff.

Moo Retreats AS reserves the right to remove participants who:

  • Behave in a manner that is unsafe or disruptive to others

  • Fail to follow the host’s safety instructions

  • Are visibly under the influence of alcohol or substances during activities

Removal at the organiser’s initiative does not entitle the participant to a refund.

8 - Privacy & Personal Data

For more information about privacy and personal data, see Privacy Policy.

9 - Complaints & Disputes

If you experience any deficiencies during the retreat, please notify the host on site as soon as possible, so we have the opportunity to address the issue. Written complaints should be submitted to info@moocommunity.com within a reasonable time after the retreat ends.

These terms and conditions are governed by Norwegian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably may be referred to the Norwegian Package Travel Complaints Board or brought before Oslo District Court as the agreed place of jurisdiction.
