LOFOTEN RETREAT

We’re beyond excited to invite you to experience the magic of late summer in the Lofoten Islands.

There’s a reason we keep coming back to this place, again and again, We can’t wait to bring you along on this adventure in August.

Hike & Pilates in the Lofoten Islands

Ever since we started dreaming about Moo Retreats, Lofoten felt like an obvious choice. It's one of our favorite places, and somewhere that has inspired so much of what this concept has become.

What makes it so special is the contrast. Steep mountains rising straight from the ocean. White sandy beaches. Midnight sun. Quiet mornings. It's the kind of place that makes you slow down in a way that's hard to explain.

We'll spend most of our days outside, exploring the landscape through hikes and simple adventures. Alongside hiking, we'll have pilates and mindfulness sessions throughout the retreat, as well as colorful, nourishing meals shared together. Everything is open to all levels.

Our goal is to create space to recharge, move the body in ways that feel good, connect with like-minded people, and slow down.

Our home: Prestegaarden

Our home for the week is the beautiful Vicarage in Flakstad, perfectly located for exploring the islands. Featuring a sauna and a big, lush garden, it's the perfect place to slow down and unwind.

Its closeness to both the mountains and the sea makes it really special, with easy access to stillness, walks on the beach, and small adventures.

Note that this is an intimate retreat with a small group of women. All rooms are shared between two or three people. Bathrooms and other common areas are also shared. If you're traveling with a friend and would like to share a room, just let us know.

Pilates with Tiril

Tiril discovered her love for Pilates through her background in dance and has been teaching for several years alongside her studies in Clinical Psychology. Her classes focus on quality movement, helping you build strength, body awareness, and confidence in a supportive and welcoming environment.

She will guide our daily Pilates sessions, with classes designed to be enjoyable, energizing, and help you move well and feel stronger.

A little side note from Helene: Tiril is one of my absolute favorite pilates teachers in Oslo. I've been obsessed with her classes for years, and I can't wait for you to experience them too!!

Food from Wilder Kitchen

Rebecca Hawkes from Wilder Kitchen will prepare our food.

Rebecca is a chef, forager and storyteller, someone who turns a shared meal into an experience.

One of the things that excites us most about this project is the people we get to bring together. When it came to food, Rebecca was an easy choice.

Meals are shared and prepared with a focus on simple, seasonal nourishing food. Slowing down, eating well and spending time around the table together is a big part of the retreat.

Meditations with Kasper

Each evening, Kasper will guide us through a meditation session. A moment to land after an active day, let the impressions settle, and prepare the body and mind for rest. He welcomes you to connect with your body, let go and find a natural presence.

Kasper has studied psychology and has meditated for ten years. He is currently completing a two-year certification as a therapist and over the years, meditation has become a cornerstone of his everyday life. It’s woven into everything he does and he is deeply passionate about sharing these tools with others.

What to expect

How we will spend our days together

We’ll spend most of our time between being outside and coming back to a slower pace at our retreat home.

All meals are shared, and everything is arranged in advance, so you don’t have to think about logistics while you’re there.

You just show up, take part, and spend a few days in a different rhythm together with a small group of women.

  • Arrival day is kept simple and relaxed with time to settle in and meet the others at your own pace.

You can check in from 3 pm, and we’ll offer pick-up regularly.

Once you arrive, you’ll have time to unpack, and settle in at your own pace.

In the early evening, we’ll gather for a gentle welcome session and short introduction to the days ahead, followed by a shared dinner around 7 PM.

  • We start each morning with gentle movement and pilates, followed by breakfast together.

Three out of four days are spent hiking through the surrounding landscapes, while one day is left open to slow down, explore Lofoten, and enjoy the area at an easier pace.

Evenings are calm and unhurried, with shared dinners and a soft landing into mindfulness and light breathwork, alongside plenty of time to rest, read, or simply be on your own.

  • Check-out is at 11. Before that, we’ll have a closing session to wrap up the retreat, followed by a shared breakfast together.

Good to know

Just a few things to help you prepare and feel ready.

This is an all-female international retreat, and all communication will be in English.

While there will be plenty of adventures, movement sessions and activities throughout the week, the overall feeling is closer to a Norwegian cabin trip than a traditional retreat. Expect shared meals, time outdoors, relaxed evenings and plenty of opportunities to connect with the group.

We'll be hiking most days, so we recommend a basic fitness level and feeling comfortable on the trail - but you don't need to be an experienced hiker. We’ll walk at a pace where everyone feels comfortable, and for us it's all about enjoying the journey, not the distance.

All pilates, movement and mindfulness sessions are open to all levels, whether you've never rolled out a mat or you practice regularly.

We'll handle all transport during the trip, including pickup and drop-off at Leknes Airport, Ramberg bus station and Lofoten Beach Camp bus station.

Personal travel insurance is your own responsibility.

Upon booking you will receive a welcome letter with a suggested packing list and everything you need to feel well prepared for arrival!
